We've Grown Again

We are delighted that Sophie Vanhegan has joined us from Linklaters as a Senior Associate. This follows our hiring of Caroline Baker from Slaughter & May towards the end of last year.

Sophie has advised on some of the highest profile employment issues, including Commerzbank’s recent defence of the group action for alleged unpaid bonuses following Commerzbank’s takeover of Dresdner Bank in 2009; as well as the sale of a major UK bank’s retail branches, involving the transfer of thousands of employees. Sophie also undertook a five month secondment to RBS to assist with employee relations issues arising from the restructuring of the organisation following the acquisition of ABN AMRO.

GQ now has a team of five lawyers, all with experience of big City firms and of working in-house. We are really excited to be growing the firm in response to the positive reaction we have had from clients and our recent hires will enable us to move to the next level.
