Agency Workers Regulations

The Government has published draft guidance on the Agency Workers Regulations, which are due to take effect on 1 October 2011. The Regulations will give temporary agency workers the right to equal treatment in comparison to permanent workers as regards basic working conditions. Among other things, the draft guidance explains:

  • what arrangements fall outside the scope of the Regulations;
  • when the 12-week qualifying period for equal treatment is met;
  • what constitutes pay for the purposes of the Regulations; and
  • when agency workers will be entitled to bonus payments.
